Step 1: Find a Quiet Space
When you're first learning to meditate, distractions can feel louder than a toddler with a
drum set.
Choose a quiet corner where interruptions are less likely.
Turn off notifications.
Close the door.
Let the people in your household know you're taking a few minutes for yourself.
The goal isn't to create perfect silence. The goal is simply to give your mind a fighting
chance.
Step 2: Get Comfortable
Contrary to popular belief, meditation doesn't require folding yourself into a human pretzel.
Sit in a chair, cross-legged on a cushion, or in any position that feels comfortable and alert.
Try to keep your spine reasonably straight and your shoulders relaxed.
