Modern Divination Techniques:

It is in the nature of humans to be interested in what the future holds, whether in movies, books, or real life. As a result of this curiosity, divination techniques were developed, some dating back centuries. There are numerous tools and methods for predicting the future. Crystal (ball) gazing, tarot card reading, palmistry, tea leaves, bones, and runes are popular forms of divination.

The practice of divination is not an exact art or science. Those with the gift of divination are frequently referred to as fortune tellers. This is a misnomer, as the diviner sees not fortune but rather the possibilities of a person's future life, love, finances, etc. All of these aspects of a person's life depend on the decisions they make now. In the Filipino language, diviners are referred to as manghuhula, which translates literally as "guessers." This essentially implies that fortune tellers are merely guessing. Amazingly, their predictions were so accurate that divination became a flourishing industry.

Despite its many forms, astrology appears to be the most credible. Chinese Astrology (one of the earliest divination techniques created centuries ago) and Western Astrology are the most well-known types of astrology (created by Babylonian astronomers).

Based on the cycles of the moon, Chinese astrological signs change annually. Therefore, their year begins on the date of the first full moon of the year. The Chinese zodiac consists of twelve animals. Your animal is determined by the year you were born. Rat, ox, tiger, rabbit, dragon, snake, horse, sheep, monkey, rooster, dog, and boar are the twelve animal signs.

The zodiac that changes each month is the one with which most people are more familiar. Your zodiac sign could be Aquarius, Pisces, Aries, Taurus, Gemini, cancer, Leo, Virgo, Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius, or Capricorn, depending on your date of birth.

Before making their predictions, astronomy-based diviners engage in extensive math and research. The result depends on the position of the stars and the alignments of the planets, as well as the time and date of your birth, so that they can make a reasonably accurate prediction.

The practice of divination (whether by diviners or those who wish to have their futures read) appears to be pervasive today! From the corner cafe to the local bookstore, blogs, Facebook groups, Instagram accounts, and even YouTube channels are ubiquitous.

The diviners of the twenty-first century are more than clairvoyants. In addition, they serve as counselors or advisors for their clients. They provide comfort, an attentive ear, and direction in addition to advice. Your preferred diviner becomes an integral part of your life and, at times, a close friend.
