When most of us consider astrology, our natal signs are the only thing that comes to mind. However, do you know what major influences define these Zodiac signs?
Sun is first and foremost. It is the source of all life and represents a person's spirit and personality. In contrast, the Moon gives us our Soul.
The Moon is the planetary ruler of the Cancer zodiac sign. It is strongly connected to the mother and maternal instincts. The Moon represents Yin in Chinese astrology, while the Sun represents Yang.
The planet Mercury rules Gemini and Virgo. It is the planet of communication and the mind. In other words, it is the planet of the idea and the medium by which the idea is communicated.
Venus is the ruler of Taurus and Libra. Venus is associated with harmonious and beautiful qualities and principles. Obviously, it is concerned with love. It is also concerned with the enjoyment we derive from our personal belongings.
Mars is the ruling planet for the dynamic sign of Aries and, according to some astrologers, Scorpio, although modern astrologers consider Pluto to be Scorpio's ruler. Mars is concerned with the things you desire and the means by which you can obtain them. Jupiter is associated with enjoyment and pleasure. In addition to being the ruler of Sagittarius, Jupiter is associated with growth, religion, and higher education.
Saturn is the planetary ruler of Capricorn and is associated with realities, limitations, boundaries, and rules. Saturn was the traditional ruler of Aquarius prior to the discovery of Uranus. Neptune is the planetary ruler of Pisces and is linked to deception, illusions, spirituality, and psychic phenomena. Pluto is the planetary ruler of Scorpio and is associated with transformation.
